Les Vosges by bike: a hotel with the “ACCUEIL VELO” label

With its elevation changes and magnificent landscapes, the Vosges massif is a prime destination for all cycling enthusiasts, whether professional or amateur. Set off to discover exceptional panoramas and explore the richness of our natural heritage, with its fir forests, lakes, 1,300-meter peaks, and picturesque villages.

The Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park offers nearly 905 kilometers of routes (9 green, 24 blue, 23 red, and 4 black) in the heart of gentle mid-mountain terrain alternating between fir trees, grassy highlands, and winding paths. There’s definitely one for you!

A Top Spot for Road Cycling.

The Tour de France regularly makes its way over the Vosges passes, on routes that are surprisingly challenging, such as the climb of La Mauselaine, or more open routes like the Col de Grosse Pierre, crossed 10 times, the famous Ballon d’Alsace with its 28 ascents, or the Col de la Schlucht.

From March onwards, many Belgians and other residents of flat countries come to boost their cardio on the Vosges roads and tackle the legendary passes, surrounded by magnificent natural scenery.

Triathletes from all over the world also come here to train in preparation for the famous Gérardmer Triathlon, which takes place every first weekend of September. An incredible event with an unmatched atmosphere. The cycling routes remain etched in everyone’s memory!

Les Loges du Parc is located right in the heart of the cycling loops “La Route des 4 Cols” (black) and “La Route des Lacs” (blue), and just a few kilometers from the “Tour de la Vôge” (black).

Well-Designed Family Routes.

Want to enjoy the sights without the sweat? In the warm season, hop aboard the Navette des Crêtes departing from the town center. It will take you, your family, and your gear straight to the summits with no effort.

Between Lac Blanc, Col de la Schlucht, Le Markstein, and Ballon d’Alsace, there’s no shortage of cheerful stops along the Route des Crêtes. Photographing chamois, savoring a blueberry tart or a slice of Bargkass, whispering to the cows, or rolling in the tall grass — unforgettable memories are guaranteed!

Other easy routes are available, such as the Tour de la Vallée des Lacs, from Gérardmer to Retournemer via Longemer, or the Greenways starting from Cornimont or Vagney (53 km).

The Kingdom of Mountain Biking and Downhill, Land of Champion Julien Absalon

The massif offers over 80 km of marked mountain bike trails, enough to vary the fun, the scenery, and the level of difficulty. You can choose to go alone, in a group, or accompanied by a guide. With electric bikes, the possibilities become endless! However, be sure to respect farmland, closed cow pastures (and their horned inhabitants), as well as the quiet zones of the Nature Park.

Get your adrenaline pumping at the La Bresse-Hohneck Bikepark, which enjoys an international reputation. It’s equipped with a chairlift and 12 trails for all levels (cross country, enduro, downhill, freeride, and pump track). The Lac Blanc Bikepark is equally impressive. Suitable for all ages, it offers equipment rental and advanced training courses.

Just 15 km away, the Corcieux pump track welcomes families on a circuit of bumps and banked turns to be tackled in succession on BMX, mountain bikes, or scooters.

25 km away, the Remiremont mountain biking stadium offers enduro, cross-country, and trial mountain bike trails, ideal for training among enthusiasts.
